| ITS Network & Security group is responsible for providing secured data and telecommunication networks and the Internet systems throughout the County. Internet Systems Administration - Provides direction and best practices on Internet applications and development, manages Web servers, maintains security of Internet infrastructure and acts as liaison on Internet projects involving Cities and other external entities. Network Security - Ensures the security of network infrastructure which includes providing direction and best practices re the use of computer resources to mitigate risks associated with virus, worms, hackers, etc., providing secured remote access connectivity to the network, and maintaining web and email filtering. Telecommunications Administration - Plans, designs, manages and maintains the county telecommunications infrastructure. This includes implementation of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) to replace Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Systems. WAN Administration - Plans, designs, manages and maintains the county wide area network (WAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN). The County WAN connects over 45 various remote locations. Also acts as a liaison on network infrastructure projects and issues involving cities and other external entities. |
